Clean energy an issue for Traditional land owners by Taylah Strano
It’s easy to see why the construction of renewable energy projects are a positive thing for our state and the environment, but the issue of their location on Native Title land is an important one that needs to be considered. The Native Title Act doesn’t give traditional land owners the right to veto a project, so their negotiating power is weak when it comes to having their say in the use of their land.
