Building a sustainable future for all.

We develop optimal, customised systems to meet your energy needs, integrating some or all of the following components.

Wind

Wind energy is one of the cheapest forms of creating electricity, it is completely renewable and produces zero emissions. If an area has a good wind resource (many areas along the coast in Western Australia do), this paired with solar energy makes a powerful energy solution.

Solar

The Pilbara region has been recognised as being one of the top three solar resources in the world, in terms of intensity and duration. However, there are real challenges in capturing this resource to compete commercially with fossil fuels in the Pilbara – including complexities of land access, cyclone risks, and the low cost of gas. Together with our partners, we have met these challenges and can deliver competitive solar energy to customers in the North West.

Storage

Energy storage can help to make renewable energy dispatchable (or available when needed). Batteries are now a mainstream and affordable technology, and a good fit for many projects. They also have a crucial grid stabilisation role. Our team works with leading providers to design fit-for-purpose energy storage systems.

Pilbara Solar is proud to be the exclusive Western Australian distributor of the Gilghi solar powered water treatment purification solution

We are the Western Australian distributors of the multi-award winning Gilghi solar powered water treatment solution. It is a fully portable, solar powered, containerised water treatment unit adaptable for both industry and/or community use.

Gilghi is developed by Ampcontrol and Aurecon. The unit is built in Perth by CPS National. One unit can provide up to 28,000L per day of potable water to Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.

Multiple reverse osmosis units can be installed in a single Gilghi, potentially doubling the water output per day from a single unit. Multiple Gilghi’s can also be installed in series to provide the quantity of water to meet your needs.

Gilghi means ‘water’ or ‘place of water’ in the Barkindji Indigenous language from far West New South Wales.

Who can use the Gilghi?

The Gilghi can be used for both community and industry purposes.

Gilghi for industry

The Gilghi is bespoke-designed for industry filtration and treatment needs and programmed for specific input/output water quality requirements. The standard single unit Gilghi configuration produces 28kL per day. The Gilghi is scalable, meaning units can be joined together as required for greater output.

Where filtration is required 24 hours a day, the unit can be connected to a generator, grid or alternative power source for continued filtration throughout the night.

The Gilghi can assist industry to use even the most contaminated water source in their operations. For office or accommodation sites, the Gilghi can provide excellent quality drinking water and can help protect equipment designed for softer water, including air conditioners, hot water systems and toilet cisterns.

Gilghi for
communities

Many remote towns and communities rely on groundwater as their primary water supply. Groundwater often has a high mineral content, which can not only taste bad, but it can also have a negative impact on the body – including kidney function.

More than 40,000 Indigenous Australians in close to 700 locations nationwide rely on groundwater for supply. They face challenges in accessing clean water for their communities that meet the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.

We can now enable access to safe, clean drinking water as the exclusive distributor of the Gilghi to remote areas in the Kimberley, Pilbara and Gascoyne regions of Western Australia.

The Gilghi’s innovative design means it can be housed on-site producing clean water so that expensive potable water is no longer needed to be transported into communities by truck.
